Partner-delivered Enterprise Services (PdES)

An SAP Global Co-innovation Lab Network initiative

Deploying and integrating new functions into an SOA-compliant customer landscape is strongly simplified by the use of SAP's SOA methodology. There are mainly three reasons:

Ease of technical communication via data type alignment across solution boundaries by means of Global Data Types (GDTs).
Ease of integration of partner solutions into enterprise SOA-based customer scenarios with common business semantics.
Ease of understanding through clear structuring of exposed solution functionality according to interface patterns.

Consequently, methodology-compliant services delivered by SAP partners form one of the main building blocks of SAP's SOA strategy resulting in the co-innovation initiative Partner-delivered Enterprise Services (PdES) which was kicked off mid of 2007.

The PdES initiative is driven by SAP's Global Co-Innovation Lab Network (COIL).

New ESR Content Certification released by SAP ICC New!

After successful certification of CONET's solution COACH (Groupware Integration), the new Enterprise Services Repository content certification (NW-ESR-CNT) has been released by SAP Integration and Certification Center (ICC). SAP ICC collaborated with the Global Co-Innovation Lab (COIL) Network project team and SAP's own enterprise service development governance team to define this new certification.

Partners that are aiming at investing into the enhancement of their solutions with SAP SOA methodology-compliant services will from now on be able to certify their solutions.

PARTNER-DELIVERED ENTPERPRISE SERVICES 2008 – SUCCESSFULLY ENABLING THE PARTNER COMMUNITY

In 2008, the SAP Global Ecosystem and Partner Group drove the PdES initiative to a huge success by piloting the PdES concept. Highly committed SAP partners as well as SAP Custom Development successfully finished the complete path from scenario identification via service modeling and definition into implementation.

PdES 2008 partners:
aMplus, Arteria, Atos Origin, BearingPoint, B-EN-G, BSG, Capgemini, Intelligroup, Nakisa, OSISoft, Paymetric, Satyam, Siemens, TaskPerformanceGroup, Visiprise, Wipro

Please go to the PdES solution overview page to have a closer look on the individual partner scenarios.

The Global Co-Innovation Lab (COIL) Network with its facilities in Palo Alto and Tokyo hosted the joint activities. The COIL project team carried out knowledge-transfer trainings and individual partner workshops (Bangalore, Walldorf, Palo Alto, Tokyo, and Seoul) as well as coaching and supporting the individual partner projects end to end.
The projects efforts culminated in successful reviews of the PdES interfaces by the team responsible for SAP's own enterprise service development governance.
