All users require SAP named user license to access SAP data or perform a task. Even the Partner software that connects to an SAP solution to fetch data or perform a task must log in using a named user license. SAP has simplified the indirect access to two levels of access as follows:

• SAP Platform Standard User is defined as a Named User accessing licensed SAP Applications only through a non-SAP software that has received SAP ICC certification as a Platform User License Compliant Solution for the category of SAP Platform Standard Users.
