FULL DESCRIPTION

All standard solutions for SAP R/3 systems provided by GPC can be used in SAP R/3 release 4.0B and higher as well as for ERP.
The solutions are ADD-IN developments so there is no modification of standard objects. The connection between the standard functionality and the GPC modules is established in user exits respectively customer functions. The modules are developed within the name range of SAP partners (J*). This name range and the use of project numbers (assigned by SAP) guarantee that no naming conflict with standard objects, customer objects or objects of other partner solutions occurs. In addition the GPC modules provide their own user exits.

Interface Freight Rate Upload

With the introduction of Freight Costing in SAP R/3 4.0 users  were provided the ability to calculate freight cost for shipments. To support the freight costing process, condition records with rates are stored in the system. These condition records may have one to several hundred thousand rates tied to one condition record. It is possible but not feasible for a user to enter all of the rates manually. Thus there is an implied requirement to provide the ability to load freight rates via an automated process. This upload can be done using IDOC COND_A02.

In the USA a widely used tariff structure exists called "LTL".
GPC provides a file containing IDOCs (type COND_A02) with these tariffs. The IDOCs then have to be processed to create master data for the tariffs.
