Companies are turning to enterprise content management applications to address and manage the increasing amounts of information.  SAP Content Document Access by OpenText and SAP Archiving by OpenText are two data management applications that can help you manage both structured and unstructured data.

The SAP Document Access application by Open Text is an enterprise content management (ECM) system that intergrates with your SAP applications.  It enables you to store, manage, and retrieve SAP and non-SAP documents independent of SAP transactions, modules, or software.  Because SAP Document Access by Open Text consoidates content with the creation of a single customer or project folder, the application enables cross-departmental or cross-business collaboration.

The SAP Archiving application by Open Text minimizes your database growth and improves performance, resulting in a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) for your SAP software. The archiving function lets you address the compliance requirements associated with electronic document retention regulations from agencies such as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, as well as mandates from Sarbanes- Oxley and Germany's Principles of Due Operation of Electronic Bookkeeping Systems and Principles of Data Access and Auditing of Digital Documents.

SAP Document Access by Open Text and SAP Archiving by Open Text integrate with SAP 4.7, mySAP ERP 2004 and 2005, and other mySAP Business Solutions and Industry Solutions based on SAP Basis 6.20, 6.40 (NetWeaver 2004) and 7.0 (NetWeaver 2004s).

 These solutions can be integrated into the SAP NetWeaver Portal or kept separate.  They require a third party run-time database tool such as Oracle or MS SQL.
